We are on a low carb diet, so before we went out for lunch today we looked up nutrition information for Steak 'n Shake and read on their website that they were more than willing to accommodate this request, so off we went. They were very busy today, but accommodated us quickly in a very friendly manner. Our table could have been cleaner, but our server was prompt and friendly. The problems arose when our server could not tell us basic information about the ingredients on the menu (i.e. which cheeses were processed, which were not), so we decided against cheese entirely. Then 2 out of 3 orders were delivered incorrectly, including something that was never ordered and one item we specifically stated we did not want. This was pointed out to the server who was very sorry and even offered to remove it from my plate, but did not manage to remove it from my bill. Unfortunately, since I never saw him after he deposited the check, I just removed it from his tip. The food was good, but if you don't like it how they normally serve it (on a special diet or have allergies) this is not the place for you.

I've been to this particular Steak'n Shake twice and both times they have been very busy and service was slow. The parking lot is too small to accommodate the crowds too. However, it is a good place to get burgers and fries and the crowds this place gets is a testament to their popularity. Sadly, the last time we went there, the waitress botched our order and we never got our shakes. Since there is a Steak'n Shake on every corner in Florida, I'll try a different one next time. I still love Steak'n Shake, just not this one.

OK, I'm only reviewing this chain because there isn't much else to review. The Frisco melts are delicious though. This place is kinda like Spangles in KS but they have full service here with a waitress. Burgers are kinda small though and it's not really worth it to pay $20+ for a cheaply made meal for 2 people IMHO.

I know this is a chain but I have been in a few Steak and Shakes and I have to say the people that serve and run our local version of Steak & Shake are the best. Everyone is so nice and the food is always prepared perfectly. The restaurant is always clean and looking its best. Again though the difference for me is the wonderful staff in Palm Coast.

Prompt greeting and was seated within seconds of entering establishment. Our server was courteous and took our order immediately. Drinks came out just as quick with a smile. Food came out as quick as it was cooked, a little greasier than other Steak n Shakes we've been. Usual menu and must try an egg on any burger! Decent management here.

I was surprised to see that a greasy spoon joint would have sides other than fries. However, I was able to substitute the fries for a bowl of mandarin oranges. They were basically out of a can but for Steak and Shake at 2 in the morning, you couldn't beat it. I was just happy that something was open. The milkshakes are the real draw to this place.

This Steak 'n Shake isn't too bad. It's very greasy, but I think that's the norm for this place. Too bad the parking lot is always full of obnoxious people. Ask for the cheese sauce for your fries, makes them 10 times better. When given the choice between only this or Taco Bell for after-hours munching, we tend to choose this.

Stopped here on a trip to Florida with my wife and another couple. We ordered 3 milkshakes to go. It took nearly 30mins to get the shakes. They handed us the cups with the lids barely on and shakemix slopped over the sides. Sent them back to get cleaned up. After we left we started drinking our shakes. I had gotten the Oreo shake, my friend had a banana shake and my wife had chocolate. Both my friend and I really only tasted vanilla shake. Once we were about halfway done we took off the lids and looked inside. I had 3-4 whole Oreos floating in the shake mix and he had half a banana in his. They hadn't even bother to blend our shakes. Luckily my wife's was correct. Overall this location was terrible and I would not recommend it to anyone.

First time had drinks with in 10 minutes, 45 minutes later we had no food and asked waitress to find out what's going on. She said there was a big party in front of us and the kitchen was backed up. We told her we were here at least 20 minutes before the big party. Manager finally came over and told us they lost our order, the truth finally came out. However, she said we could order again but we would have to wait our turn in the kitchen for our order to come out there were orders in front of us and she cannot put us to the front of anyone else's orders. Offered us a shake while waiting, we said no thank you, we want dinner. We left hungry and went to Sonny's and had a great meal. The second time we went to steak and shake about two months later sat for 12 minutes without drinks. I saw the same manager we had a couple months ago up at the front counter with a couple waitresses looking at pictures on a cell phone. I blew my top I told her off and we never went back. It's been two years I hope things have changed but I will never be back. This woman was the worst manager ever.

The teen ranked it #4 of his "tour of US fast-food burger joints", with Krystals as his first, Jack in the Box, Innout, 5 guys and Sonic. Shakes are thick. Teen vote - 3.5 stars. Mom's burp vote - one burp, with the NASTIEST being Jack in the Box... Moving on to the next trip - White Castle (childhood favorite of mine)

Plus, the drive through attendant screwed up our order and we noticed before we pulled out of the driveway. She got upset with us when we kindly told her what was wrong. Really?!?

On 12/6 I am waiting in drive thru and I couldn't help but to see an older woman harshly yelling at the employees as if they meant nothing. In any restaurant this shouldn't even be allowed. It saddens my heart to know that this woman is doing such a thing and these poor kids can't even do anything about it. Overall the food was great but just seeing the employees being treated in such a way I will never buy from this establishment again unless the problem ( the older woman ) is resolved.

If I could leave no stars I would. The service was HORRIBLE. As soon as we walked in we waited 5-10 minutes to get seated and even then the hostess was "trying" to be nice. She kept making excuses as why no one sat us when she was starring at us the whole time. Once we sat to order drinks our server seemed like she was not even trying to take our order. It was a party of 4 and as soon as we sat we knew what we wanted. After one of us would order she kept asking if that was it over and over. Once the food came out it was all COLD. The only good thing was my milkshake. When we tried paying she took our cards and then took her 15 minutes to bring them back since she kept going to wait more tables and take more orders and even was going to the back to talk to her other coworkers. I at least wrote them my tip on the receipt itself and maybe next time they can work better at serving customers and I can say I never coming back here.

Have been there 4 times over the course of the last week. Some for food, a late night snack or just a milkshake. Most of the staff was great, especially a waitress by the name of Jess. She was the most friendliest person I've met during my steak & shake experience. The food is so much better than Mickey D's or BK. Burgers and shoestring fries are fresh and very delicious (for a fast good joint) & best part is...everything on the menu is $5.49 or less with most of the menu coming in at $4!!!! The milkshakes are by far the best...a mix variety of flavors to choose from and depending who your server is makes a big difference in quality of Shake. Some will make them to soft, very liquidity...but Jess makes them perfect. Nice & thick!!! Def worth the stop at a steak & shake, wish we had them back home in CT.
